For the BA they trimed down the weight of the rod in comparison to E series. When the LPG engines backfired they found that the rods were bending (something like this) They made the rods a little stronger that solved the problem.

The part numbers I have are BA6200A standard turbo rod/ BA6200B LPG rod/ BA2T6200C Typhoon rod.

The rod I have is the BA6200B and most certainly is the heavy duty LPG rod.

this is a very interesting thread... indeed. One question though, what is the difference betwen the AU and Eseries piston? I only ask because it was stated early on in this thread that the BA rods will only work with AU and BA pistons. I am about to start my engine rebuild have purchased Eseries pistons, but this thread has brought me to think a little, maybe too much ;)

the compression height is different from E to A from AU on the rod is longer and the piston is shorter, you can also get smaller to no dish in the AU piston from ACL where as the E piston only get as small as 5cc

hey guys just wondering what the ba turbo pistons are worth to fit these rods??? or even just a part number and ill ring up and ask tomoro...

so if i bought a xr6 hp engine put the later model lpg rods in it with acl race series pistons how much could i expect to gain in compression???

i also work at a ford dealership The part numbers I have are BA6200A standard turbo rod all AND F6 TYPHOON UP 2 04/2006. BA6200B is now BA6200C $55.66 LPG rod. BA2T6200C Typhoon rod 05/2006 on $59.29.
