ok bit hard to see what your talking about there with with out pictures. I worked at a wrecker for a little while so im used to undoing all this crap. Is the motor in or out the car?
What i usually did was either a 10mm spanner and get it from the bottom. Otherwise i used a 1/4" socket and a long reach extension bar to get to the little f**k. I think in some cases we had to remove some things off the manifold to get to it. Just if it helps Ben

thanks stomper.....yeah we got the 10mm socket and undid that bolt then we found another one after it which was much larger and is holding down the inlet manifold. im just going to try and yank it out and see how that goes. bbl

rachet ring spanners are useless for undoing a tight bolt they will break.

nah its still sitting there. we managed to get the 10mm bolt off. Looking at the screw there is a washer.....after the washer there is another nut and that nut is quiet big...after the second nut there is a steel frame that is connected to the engine and on top of that is the bottom of the inlet manifold....tried to undo the bolt that connects the frame to the engine but its too tight so we gave up on that one. Inlet manifold still sitting in there...now i want to take the engine out and do it outside but i dont have a hoist or engine stand. but i cbf getting the engine out anymore cause i just want to clear the driveway. okais one more question. the nut/screw system that holds the manifold in.....is the screw screwed into the manifold and so can be undone? or is the screw part of the manifold and u have to undo the nut? if all fails i hope i can cut the damn frame holding the manifold out.......pretty thick piece of metal too. phong =P~
