f**k I'm p****d off. I just put my old power steering pump back into my car so that doesn't leak anymore only to discover that the high pressure line is also leaking.

When the car is idling, and when you turn the wheel side to side there are no leaks. When I rev the car a bit, I can see a fine mist coming from the general area.

If I take the car for a drive around the block, it makes a massive mess of things in the engine bay.

So I can only assume it's the high pressure line.
So two questions:

Is there an O-ring or something that goes in where the line screws on?
If it turns out to be a f**k line, are they expensive to buy?

Just quickly, are you 100% it's a leak coming from the pump?
Give it a rev from under the bonnet (if you can without getting covered in PS fluid :D), cause the sensor in the rack is known to split.
Mine went, so I just blanked off the hole with a gas fitting.

when you block the switch off what do you do with the connector ?

Cable tie it away from the exhaust :D
It hasn't stalled on full lock yet, even with the aircon, clutch fan, and stereo at full load.

Nah it's not the switch.

I'll be happy if the hose is under a $100.

The other thing is I'm using an EF hose, and an EB pump. I assume they'd be compatible.
The EF hose looks a lot nicer.

There are o-rings on the connections and that is where they often leak (especially after swapping things around). $3 each from ford IIRC.

When you pull it out it is in front of a ridge right at the end of the pipe. It will look more like a black stripe than an o-ring. The same sized o-ring is used at both ends of the high pressure line.

Ended up getting a whole new line for $55, and problem solved.
