hey any one have any ideas why my ef kills spark plugs. It has a few mods etc, the plugs just stop working properly after anything from one week to one month, some times burning off the end of the centre part or even the arch part ( sorry not too sure on spark plug terminology ) most plugs last no more than 3 months before the car starts breaking down really bad etc thought about iridium's but would they self destruct as well meaning same life span but triple costs?

any ideas??????????

im not sure if this is correct but for something like that too happen would mean ur running too much current into the sparkies......so im guessing it might be ur coil shorting some how?

fuel mix is fine, too much current could be from the 10mm leads, just fitted new iridium plugs $114, hope they last.

If you are losing parts of the plugs it could be detonation. Pinking will do this quick smart. So if you have some mods and the engine is leaning out somewhere.......this could be your answer.

cheers
Scott
