You wont get into the 11 second bracket with the T5. No way.

A T56 would be the best bet if you want to stick with a manual.

Haven't heard any issues re the diff and driveline in high powered XR6's. Doesn't mean there aren't any though.

Speak to CAPA, APS, Herrod, as many people as you can.

I don't think it's all that difficult to get them into low 12's/high 11's though.. big exhaust, cai and an edit get it most of the way... to go much further you need to beef up your fuel system a bit and a bigger intercooler, rods can also be a problem around this level. To get a lot of other cars up to this level of performance would be a lot more d**k around though.

T5 can only handle around 250-300rwkw without dying on you. If you want a good quarter mile time you are best going to a girls transmission (auto) as they are much more efficient in terms of gear changes. You are looking at between 5-10k for a new, strengthened box.

IIRC you need around 350rwkw to get those sort of times, which you wont be far off with a good intercooler, fuel system upgrade, valve springs, maybe rods, and a good tune with either a piggy back or edit (they can be just as good as each other - just depends on the tuner)... oh and slicks would probably help you out a lot too.

Hope you got lots of money, I mean lots, your will has been written, cancel life insurance and car insurance and best of luck on your death wish, particularly if you intend to drive this on the road.

haha, his best bet for safety is to build a 12 second street car, that can still maintained in a semi controllable fashion on the road. and then slap on slicks and run an 11.

Either way, a conversion to the 6 speed auto if you can get the money would be awesome or got a t56 6 speed. I don't know heaps about the xr6t per sei, but i'd have to say the basic turbo stuff, big exhaust, bigger cooler, edit for more boost and you'd have to be on your way.

also to get into the 11's no way with a manual! there are guys pushing out over 450rwkw and there only managing 12 flat (with a t56) there blowing the cv's if they boost it of the line! but there are few people now lookin into making billet cv"s now not cheap but!! your lookin at about 3500!

also xr6turbo.com best site for info!

also u cant convert it to a 6 speed auto! well u can if u wont to modify the whole tunnel ram under the car! its not worth the $$$ your goin to spend!
t56 is your only way! check out malwood they do the conversions as a kit and a lot of people have got it from them.
