This is a dumb question that I probably should know the answer to but anyway.......
I have 17*7.5 rims on my ute. I currently run 235s. Will I be able to squeeze 265s on these rims or will this create, among other things, handling problems? Dumb question but I gotta ask!!

Pretty darn sure that the largest u can go on 7.5's is 245
|

I had 265's on 14x7's
not sure if the lower profile affects the width you can have. 7.5" probably is a bit small.

the lower profile will shorten the sidewall, meaning theres less sidewall to bulge to match the narrow rim width
in addition to that, you may well find that handling will be compromised by the rim walking around on the sidewall bulge when cornering

way too big for these rims, every chance that the beads will rip while the tyres are being fitted. if you really want 265 you should have 8.5-9 inch rims. riped beads mean that there is huge chance the tyres will either leak air from the bead seat or suffer from seperation and possible blowout.

Yeah that was what I'd figured. Might just stick with the 235s. Others are probably to damn expensive anyway!! I think I'll just spend my dosh on some more spotties and stickers and............Bundy!!!

exactly what i would spend my money on. who needs wider tyres when you can buy booze?
