this afternoon i was entering traffic off a main road, long story short, i had to gas it cos i misjudged the on coming traffic, when i did the rear end of the XR made this terrible grinding noise from the rear treads, and then visciously threw the car sideways to the right, which is odd cos she used to stick like glue, just wondering what in the diff/driveline may be damaged etc, to cause this to happen, general driving is all ok, and the car has no drammas go to whoah, its just seemed to be under turn lock, just seems to not grip like it used to, could it just be the tyres have worn and are not gripping properly, i have absolutly no idea about the diff/driveline. any1 can shed some light on something that may be going on...

Maybe a broken axle or teeth or worse broken on centre spider gears?
