well, while being bored, thought id check a few things.
PS was making a rattleing noise. sprayed some water on the belt and the sound went away for 30 seconds. diagnosis need a new belt. how hard are these to change? do the fans need to come out? then took intake pipe off to clean filter, hey hey there was a whole BIG a** butterfly caught in it. then checked throttle was opening completly. then decided to poke my head around the back of the intake manifold and saw this. What does that vac hose go to? its bolted to the back of the fuel rail and appears to keep going down. its got a split in it. could this explain a slight rough idle i have?

Thats the fuel reg vacuum line (adds fuel presure at WOT). Any vacuum line leak will cause the engine to run rough.

cheers. been replaced, not a huge difference.
think i still have some VAC leaks. mainyl climate control, cause when set to face half the air comes out the windscreen. ill get onto that one day.

for the drive belt.
remove thermos, makes life alot easier, unless you have small arms/hands. either put a 3/8 rachet into the bottom of the idler arm, and twist right, tighten, to slacken the tension. or use some insulated cable next to the water pump, idler side, and pull the belt up and off. reverse for install.

ever since i sprayed a little water on the belt to see if itd stop it has :\ ah well, its fine atm

Check the heater tap vacuum line, that can sometimes cause problems with where air comes out.

runs out of the firewall on the right hand side (from heaterbox) then straight down to the heater tap.
the heater tap is under neath the intake manifold
