My ABS light stays on all the time.

you have checked to see if the discs are abs compatible?? i say this because when i baught my ef fairmont the "abs" light was constantly illuminated... turns out the previous owner had installed the "non abs discs".. that resulted on the "abs " warning light and the "abs system didnt function at all"...

also, as with my dads vt, was a faulty abs module.

Could be one of your abs wheel sensors.Or you could have a broken wire between a sensor and module.Take it to a mechanic or Ford.They can wack there machine on and have a look.
