Yep, get an adjustable pushrod (or make one from an existing rod) and check for the required length.
Length is correct when valve is fully closed, rocker is bolted down to 25nm, and the plunger in the lifter is depressed between .020 and .060 thousandths of an inch. I dont think pushrod length has the same impact on valve tip contact when using pedastal mount rockers (unlike stud-mount rockers)?? Anyway, this is why I bought adjustable rockers...lol |

Pretty sad when you spend money on a name brand such as Crane and your base circle is under.
I lost count of how many new billet cams i have installed on numerous engines, never once had to buy adjustable pushrods, or longer pushrods because of that fact. We'd only use adjustable pushrods to get rocker geometry right, nothing to do with lifter to rocker touching. That's why i stated in an earlier post, take every cylinder to TDC and check clearance, do that before forking out for pushrods, could be a big cost for nothing, and being a billet and not a huge cam then it shouldn't be needed. To be honest the only time i ever used Crane cams was in the 308's running the 286, they were an awesome little cam. |

I've got the same noise with my cam and thats a crow.Told with the extra lift the lifters can move off the lobe a bit.Sounds strange but I asked Terry at BPT and he told me the same thing.

That's definately strange, the only time you'd expect that to happen is from running a regrind without adjustables.
