well just finished my manual conversion now she wont start ne ideas on what it couldbe ???
i have changed the ecu to a manual one and earthed the starter relay..

she wont even crank over.

help would be great !!

considering its so late.....im going to point out the obvious......is the battery connected? is every plug and wire connected again? if they are then sorry i dont have a clue......ull need to sleep over this one

Are you sure its a manual ECU? I would hazard a guess that the interlock that prevents you from starting in Drive etc not bypassed. Try putting the old ECU back in and removing the selector switch from the old box and plugging that in (make sure park is selected). You can use an Auto ecu by doing this or adding a resistor in place of the selector and adding in another single resistor to fool the ECU into thinking the gearbox temp is fine, even though its sitting in your shed.

Yeah, first make sure the orange/black wire of the starter relay is earthed.
In the manual EF/EL's, you can plug an auto ECU straight in and they should start, with the usual thermos roaring and high idle(around 1200 RPM), but for testing this is bearable. In yours, you can do same with your old auto ECU, should start but will have just the high idle.

also, i know it sounds silly, but make sure the battery terminals are nice and tight. i was doing work on mine once, and i didnt have the terminals tight enough. wouldnt crank over. nipped em up a bit, sweet as!

hmmm well earthed the wire still nothing..chekced all the wireing and batt clamps seems allright. stillnothing.

ummgoiung toshortthestarterandseeif she'sworkingwas befor i tookher out.

sorted it all outnow shes upand running sweet as wish i didthe conversionyears agohey.makes a big improvement.

ended upbeign the modula above the handbrake. the wireing harnes in the back wasnt in right. only picked it when ididnt notice my smartlock light...


yay she's all gooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!
