I want to know how to remove the wiper arms on my EF falcon. I've taken the cap off and undone the nuts but I cant pull it off. Is it stuck and need more brute force and ignorance or is it something else holding it there?
The arms have the paint off and corrosion on it and I want to sand it back and respray it. Also how do you get the windscreen squirters off so I can repaint them black because they are sun faded Cheers |

Wow, I was going to come on and ask the same questions. Someone must know?
One question from me though, can you remove the electric mirror bit from the plastic mirror housings for respraying?

i've replaced the wiper arms on my EF before - again, just removed the cap, undid the nut, and then wiggled the thing off! there shouldn't be anything else holding it on!

If you look at the wiper arm where it hinges you'll see a small hole. Lift the arm off the window and insert a small nail through the hole. this will hold the arm up and remove the spring pressure from the spindle, making removal a piece of cake.
If it feels tight, just wriggle it gently, they are a taper fit and can get tight.

Cheers guys. Looks like it a bit of brute force and ignorance to get em off.
What about the water squirters off? I dont want to break the tubes going to them and I cant see them on under the bonnet. |

To take the squirters off it would be best to carefully remove the soundproofing from the bonnet, then you can get the hose off easier.

Yeh bf and I is all that is needed to get them off. As for the respray, may I recommend the bumper black that is sold at supercheep as the paint for the respray. It gives an original finnish to the arms, and I painted mine 2 years ago now, and still look lovely. Pitty I cant say the same for the bonnet
As for the nozzles for the washers, just polish them.... works for me !

What about leaving them there and giving them a good drink of Armor All? You'll be amazed at the difference.

Thanks again guys. I wonder how much new ones would cost, might be worth it instead of mucking around with paint. Just a thought.

Just a thought. i'll find out & let you all know - i was going to give lynford a call tomorrow anyways and find out, cause i reckon that'd be the easiest option.

Cheers I read on here a couple of months ago xr8chic painted hers with nail polish! So if your missus has any lying around you won't even need to take them off |

Update: called lynford today - asked about the washer jet nozzels - $12 EACH lol so i have a feeling that sorting it out yourself may be a cheaper option!
