Series 2 had 185kw engine due to Explorer manifold and ELGT extractors and an ECU tweak. The diff was 3.45 ratio.

Series 1 had 170kw with standard HO motor but better extractors than a bog stock V8. Diff ratio was 3.23.

Much has been said about throttle body differences but I dont think there is any.

Currently I'm looking to sell my EL XR8 manual 185kw version.

I do. I dont get to drive it much because The Great Northern highway is s**t. Too many trucks and they are forever resurfacing it and I dont want my car damaged. Rather sell it to someone who drives on better roads.

Go the EL Series II.

Might be a bit more pricey and more difficult to come by but comes complete with an extra 15kw.

Also, the EL series II XR8 (man) is the most sort after XR of the E-series, so this may make it a challenge finding one for the right price.

Good luck with it all.
