I had to use a small cold chisel to get it loose. CRC is only good if it can actually penetrate.

spray some crc on it, get a flat punch as wide as the screw (or slightly smaller), and hit it with a hammer. that will shake it and it should come loose.
i did this with mine.

I used an Impact screwdriver, actually, no I didn't, even that didn't work, I took the bit from the impact screw driver and fitted it into my socket, and used a 3/8" ratchet and screwdriver bit on it.

A large phillips head screwdriver with vicegrips on the shaft, or preferably a phillips head bit with ratchet as mentioned - obviously you need the leverage. Be sure to press on your ratchet/screwdriver while turning, so you don't butcher the phillips head screw.

Go to www.transquip.com.au and put in "impact driver" into the search, or look for "KIID 3400".
Every good mechanic should have one. |
