I had the really loud tick coming from the rocker assembly, (you know I could hear it from 100 metres away, so I just pulled the rockershafts off my EF, I found that No 2 Intake lash adjuster just fell out of the rocker, on closer inspection I saw what looked like a piece of steel 0.5 mm dia (shaped like a tiny spring inside the oil gallery on that rocker, about 1 /10th the size of the spring inside the lifter ), with that removed, I bled the lifter, reassembled it and tried to fire it again, the lifter did not hold it's oil and rattled again, so wondering where the metal came from I took the whole rocker assembly apart, and found what looks like excessive wear of the exhaust shaft at number 6 exhaust rocker (the bottom side of the shaft has what looks like chatter marks (like a run bearing look) no 6 exhaust I can feel movement in the rocker but can see the movement (not like the collapsed lash adjuster at number 2).
So what I thought I would ask you knowledgable people what should I do, do these shafts wear out, are they repairable, do I need to replace the rockers and shafts and all lash adjusters, or do something else , (eg. find another headand rocker assembly, or get some shims to take up the slack)

I may have to send you some cash and get you to send them over, if I have no luck here.
What do you want from them, strictly speaking I should be able to get away with one intake rocker, with good Lifter, and exhaust shaft and 1 exhaust rocker. I'll keep you in mind if you don't mind sending them over the ditch. (I'll pay of course ) Cheers

Nah , it was as thick as a really small light bulb filament, just like a shaving off the edge of a piece of steel, 2.0 mm long 1.5mm diameter

Its probably easier to rebuild them if you have all the bits then go get others if you don't have wreckers or anything out there...
But then again buying others is just as easy... *shrugs shoulders* Cheers

na not the spring thats about 5 times the size of what I found
I'm telling yah it is a piece of metal shaving that just coiled when it peeled off something internally, unless it's been there for 11 years and P-SS POOR assembly

nah, that doesn't sounds normal, the piss poor assembly that is. If your getting metal shavings, then just get another set, and while that ones off, inspect everything, and look for wear marks.
Cheers

Cheers Did that , veniered the lobes , they all look ok 59mm diameter on lift and about 53 across flatsides some don't look too great though but could be my eyes, and as I said some chattering on underside of number 6 exhaust rocker (on the shaft) thats why I PM'd ya for a price of a set of lifters a couple of rockers & cam, still to find rocker shaft though unless you can do the lot. Fraud here want $89 for each lifter

Well I done it, Got the rocker assembly reco'd, new lifter, linished the rocker shaft, new seals across the board, while I was at it I replaced the cam (one with longer duration, put a adjustable Crow Cam gear in, goes to be Degreed in on Tuesday. Lifter woes have gone, just got more horses now, yee haa....
