Howdy.
Since I took my car in for an insurance quote after the kangaroo issue, I've noticed my headlights have issues. The silver reflective s**t has slipped down, and now obscures part of the front of the light. I'm wondering if there's a simple way to fix this, even temporarily, as: a - It'll be at least a few weeks before I can get anything done, due to living in an uncivilised s**t, and b - It'll be at least a lot of weeks before I can afford to get anything done, due to being broke and not being able to afford my insurance excess. So yeah, any advice?

So long term you want to replace the headlights with the insurance quote?
In the mean time heat the headlight up in an oven until glue has softened then prise apart. You should be able to repair it from there. A bit of glue or tape for the time being. Make sure the insurance co agrees to fix it before you do this. Otherwise they may not cover it.

you can't take the light out, take the globe out and push it up through the globe hole ? or something ?

The second option there is definitely sounding better. I'll have a stab at fixing it through the globe hole tomorrow.

sorry to hijack the thread for a sec. Im having trouble with my headlights too.....they seem to be very dim when im driving....they aren't yellow. Anyways how many globes should be on when driving lights are on.....and how many when its in park? cause i can see 3 globes......one headlight, one highbeam and another little one which is not on when my headlights are on. but yeah it happens on both sides. are 2 lights meant to be on, on each headlight casing when headlights are on?

Check your headlight relays Phongus, these can be responsible for dim headlights if faulty.

You should have the two outside globes going when on low beam, and four lights on high beam. The small light is just for your parkers. As long as its on when no headlights are on, but parkers are itll be fine. That small light wont afect the amount of light you see!

It worked perfectly. Bullbars are designed to stop your car from being rendered undrivable by an impact, basically so you can limp home. It protects the radiator and lights, basically.
My lights were working fine with no issues until I took the car for an insurance quote, which leaves me with the suspicion that the smash repairers may have loosened the reflective backing or whatever so they can add the headlights to the repair list.
