Like my mate always tells me. Drag Racing is for fast cars while Drift is for fast drivers.

I love it personally. Only thing that s**t me is that box cars never had the hand brake in the right spot.

And if you see the entry speed and the angle some of those guys have then you can clearly see why only a kid with big balls and no brains would try it on the street. Its just too dangerous.

And drfit is not just power oversteer out of a corner. Its slide in on entry, maintain angle throughout the corner and slide out. Going sideways before the actual corner is the scariest part.

i don't understand how they use the handbrake to start off with, i've never used a handbrake to get it sideways, even in the dry.

i actually prefer to watch amatures.. much more fun.. d1 guys get boring after a while.. going to a local drift comp and watching a variety of different cars drift and try to drift is so much more exciting!!

I whole heartedly agree. D1 drifting is booring, watching amatures go at it at malalla is way way better. Last time i was at malalla to watch it, what two cars got the biggest reception/cheers? 308 VC Auto Commodore booooooonger, and what looked like a dead stock XF 3speed.

The guys who attack the corners hard, slide in early, BIG RESPECT. They have some big balls !

(PS: AE86 = worst drift car ever)

The AE86 corollas are probably one of the most common entry level drift car, light as all hell and easy to get good power out of.
Personally i love drifting, dont know what it is about it, maybe people thrashing cars and tyre smoke and just the shear awe of how they hold drifts at 100km/h through a corner i wouldnt dare going 60 around without kicking the back end out.
One of my sisters boyfriends mates drifts, but lost his licnence so he hasnt been able to get to events, but he has learnt the hard way drifting i think he wrote like 2 cars off and he can do 360s, 180's and drift.
If i can i'll get some pics of his car its a Rx7 or rx3 cant remember.
