I was just investigating cams on Crow Cams website and noticed that the rocker ratios are different from 89-98 i6 to 98-02.
The ratios are as follows: 89-98=2:1 ratio 98-02=1.8:1 ratio When they advertise these things is the first number ie the 2 or the 1.8, the cam end or the pushrod end. Now just thinking out loud does it then follow (if the first number is the cam side) that you will be able to get more lift in an early i6 from a standard cam simply by changing the rocker gear to the later rockers? Cheap mod or not?

not.
the early ones have the higher ratio, you'd theoretically benefit from putting 2:1 rockers on an AU, but the cams are different anyway, so its not possible.

Yeah thought so but was just musing out loud. Never know when you stumble across simple things like that

Overhead cam engines, no pushrods. cam pushes on rocker arm, fitted with hydrolic lash adjuster which pushes on valve or something like that. |
