aint it funny we own fords but we put some holden parts on em,

what a wonderfull world we live in

amaxing isnt it....... the only usefull thing on a holden is something that deals with the by-product of it's running...... putting said product on a ford makes it perform better......

besides which, i think its only fair considering how many holdens run ford diffs, gearboxes, bonnets, mirrors, etc.....

very true,,

Its been happening since the dawn of cars.
Saw it on a discovery channel special on Ford

When the current PM Banned all cars being imported from the USA (Ford) another company formed which took all existing Ford chassis and parts and built them and rebadged them into holdens.
At the time it was legal to build your own car but illegal to have one imported from overseas...

i'd argue the ultimate part..... some of the dana diffs are tougher

popular mods on older holdens are XC-series LTD mirrors, XB/C GS/GXL/GT bonnet fultes moulded onto the holden bonnet, etc, as well as the ever popular 9" conversions

EF-EL dome lamps are the same as in VR-VS calais, and IIRC WB statesmans use the same dome lamp as XD-XF Fairmont ghia's/fairlanes/LTD's, 308 and 302/351c rings are the same

i know the stuff that was original equipment is pretty small fry, but it's still interesting to se what gets shared...... the EF/EL dome lamps have both GMH and Ford part numbers on them

I'm about to have Pacemaker Competition's fitted, the guy siad he can do a hi flow cat for $200.00 - just to give you an idea on the price the exhaust shops are charging. I've also seen them on eBay.com.au.

yeh... when u think about it why wouldnt the manufacture use a hi flow cat if they were so much better.. i rekn hi flow cats are a bit of a suck in and they arnt cheap either

If you going to use that logic, you can then say why don't maufacturers use extractors if there so much better than exhaust manifolds or why don't they use the Wade Stage 2 cam? manufacturers don't necessarily use the parts that are going to give the best engine performance, I mean if they did, then the Falcons would be comming out of the factory with IPS and JMM spec engines...
