I cant stop my rocker covers from leaking! i bought new gaskets didnt do them up too tight, i have those T handles to hold them down but it still keeps on leaking, it only leaks after you boot it around, as the pressure must push it out!
would it be suitable to use gasket sealer, on both sides of the cork gaskets to help it?

Yeah you can use a sealer like Lock Tite gasket sealer, but check your breather is working properly.

It may have to much Blow by. :D

Actually I just noticed your name, if you do have a Turbo check your Plumbing for the Breather.
It may be under Presure if it's not done correctly and blowing presure into the Rocker Covers.
Also with a Turbo if your motor is getting a bit old there is a big chance that your problem is Blow by coming from the Sump.

Yeah, also check the PCV valve, if its sticky, it will be venting boost into the engine (that is, if it is infact a turbo)

If its atmo, use cork gaskets not rubber ones as they are f**k. And get a breather on each rocker cover and dont connect it to the intake just let it breath to the atmosphere.

It should Vent to a point before the Turbo intake, so it's venting to a low presure.
But venting to the Atmosphere would work as well, you just have to watch that you don't get a Cop that knows what he is looking at.

yeah my xe isnt turbo, i turboed it when it was a 6 last year and had good results from it, but i went the v8 way, for various reasons. ill buy 2 filters for each of the rocker covers and see if that makes a difference, because it doesnt leak at all when idling only when giving it to it.

Not going to agree with this, I used Felpro rubber gaskets for years, reusable and you don't have to be carefully with fitting, never a leak, including leaving them outside on the ground walking over them for a week, until I had to use them finding out the new gasket set used cork, washed all the dirt off, refitted and never leaked with a little permatex.

These same gaskets were off and on like yo yo's, two cam changes, bent pushrods, intake changes, 3 head changes and fitted to another engine, tell me you can do that with cork, they didn't look healthy but they never leaked unless the tappet cover was loose.

I used those stupid t-bars at first, never again on a road car, they come loose easier than bolts.

Im just saying from my experiance, I used the rubber ones and it p****d out oil everywhere, put cork gaskets on, not a problem as long as you dont over tighten them.

Rubber ones are heaps better than cork, as long as you know how to use them....

Need to make sure the head is absolutely clean, and use contact cement to glue the rubber gasket to the rocker cover. Got them on mine, and not one hint of oil weeping.

I'd have to agree with Damage, rubber are superior to cork on a clevo,
just be sure to lightly coat the felpro's with engine oil.
Due to the extreme comp ratio with my last clevo and oil pressure of aprox 90psi, to vent the engine easier I used a pcv pipe off the back of an xf 4.1, these are almost 2x the size of the ones on clevo's, this let the pressure out

DONT allow crankcase fumes into the inlet!!!
Causes loss of power and will put oil and s**t all through your manifold and heads.
Just get the breather caps for each side!
Like k&n ones or something they are good, look like mini airfilters.

ive got a bit too much blow by for that . it leaves oil mist around the place , what i really need is the hoses going to a tank thats got a breather set up ( oh i wish i had the money to blow on a dry sump set up )
im pulling the inlet of in a few weeks to put in a solid cam so ill check the cleanliness of it out then , i agree it would loose slight power
