if the oil pump s**t itslef in the 4 speed auto box can it cause the car not to start? how bout if a flex plate breaks? wil that cause the car not to start?

If the oil pump on an auto gearbox s**t itself the car will still start or crank over.If the flex plate is broken it will still crank over but will be noisey.If the inhibitor switch is faulty the car will not start.Or will start in any gear.
