Well I got my RDA slotted from Hightek Brakes today I'll be putting them on tonight, I've got new pads (Bendix Advance) new bearings (Motorcraft?Timken) some new seal things, bearing grease (Valvoline=cheap) & Fluid (Valvoline). I still have to get split pins http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=33074 I think thats all, I got the workshop manual so think i'm good.
Any tips or advice from past experiences? Thanks Ben Pics... Also what is this, its rough and like grains of like sand come off if you rub it, is that normal? Cause grease plus grainy bits probably equal stuffed bearings. Also how is a*** a swear word? c o a r s e oh i get it, it has a r s e lol |

yeah most rotors when u buy them have a protective coating on them you need to wash off wit a petrol wash or metho or something like that

Well the bastards are on, getting it all off was easy! Getting the new seals in the new rotors took forever they were very bent after i took to them with a block of wood but did the job.
New pads were alright, one of my caliper sliders is seized it took a lot of beating to be able to refit it Still haven't bled it properly but its definately better than it was before. Will check the new bearings and bleed it tomorrow. With the bleed procedure you start rear left rear right front left front right, this doesn't change if its got ABS? and you losen nipple thing put tube on it into container of fluid, then down with peddle, tighten nipple, up with peddle and repeat, does the car have to be running? Thanks Ben |

should do rear passenger, rear driver, front passenger, front driver, rear passenger again and rear driver again. you always start with the furtherest away and you always redo the first two.

and DONT pump the brake pedal all the way to the floor when your bleeding it. can f**k the seals in your master cylinder.

before bleeding brakes with ignition off press pedal to remove power assistance if not with motor running you will get a sharp fountain squirt of fluid from nipple, you should only need to do each wheel once just until fluid clears and of course no bubbles (bubbles should not be there anyway)
