i took the Throttle body off before and i find all black oil s**t after the butterfly and all inside the intake manifold? How is this possible?? im thinking of taking off the top half of the inatke manifold to see what else is in there? i can't think of anything apart from the oil of the air filter is that possible?? but theres no oil in the inlet piping at all?? thanks guys i need a explanation bout this

the PCV takes air from inside your rocker cover (containing lots of oil droplets) and dumps it in your throttle body to be burnt up.

on the front of the butterfly there was no sign of anything, but behind it, it was full of black s**t smelt sorta like fuel,

i mannage to wipe oil out of the inlet manifold with a rag. the car idles alot better than it did, i cleaned Isc valve as well.

yer i actually saw the samwe thing today, black s**t in the T/B, but i sprayed a s**t load of carby cleaner in there the other day, so i would be assumeing that is what it is.
But if it is something else i would like to know aswell.

probably more to do with cleaning the ISC than cleaning the oil!~

yeah, give it a week and the oil will be back. Its not big deal and there isnt much you can do about it anyway.
dirty ISC on the other hand is a big deal.

Worn rings (blow-by) can cause this issue, as will driving at WOT (wide open throttle) often - under these conditions, crankcase vapours will be pushed/drawn into the throttle body instead of the inlet manifold.

dirty ISC on the other hand is a big deal. My turbo BA suffered this,the ford bloke said the turbo donks just had plenty of blow-by from the factory 
Fitted a oil catch-can...problem solvid 
After a about 2000 K's 
Some blokes say put a medium of some sort in the catch can,I tried it without any,works fine,I just added that red elbow you can see in the happy,that just made the vacuum return higher,just to make sure the atomized oil droplets have a better chance to fall in the can vik...TB is clean as a whistle now

i don't see why to bother with the catch can if your car is NA, the oil going into the intake doesn't do any harm.
but then yours is turbo so the oil vapours can condense in your intercooler and that - which isn't good. |
