Under braking, after the disc warm up I get a real bad shudder.
My first thought was warped discs, but they look alright, wearing even on both pads and the piston was working fine.
I replaced the ball joints a couple of months ago and noticed the tie-rod ends were on the way out, but still moving smooth.
Any suggestions as to what the cause could be, and how I could test whatever it is?
Cheers in advance.

I had shudder like what you have, replaced the rotors, pads and wheel bearings, now its all good :) I'd start there.

Unless your rotors are really badly warped you wont tell by just looking, and the pads will wear with the shape of the rotor.

If you get the old rotors machined, and watch them doing it, you will see then, that they are warped.

They don't need to warped much to give you brake shudder.

Ceheck your caliper slide pins,if they dont slide freely fix them. This will give the similar effect of a brake shudder.

I'm not sure about the tie rod ends. The steering is still pretty straight, and I don't veer under braking even when it's shuddering. Please feel free to correct me if that doesn't mean s**t.
Anyway, I'll have a look this weekend and post what I found.

Brake shudder usually only occurs during braking, where as a worn tie rod will be noticable in the steering wheel at high speeds.
