Got a quote for a brand new 4 pinion LSD centre , 3.73 gears and carrier bearings fitted for $1400. Is this around what it should be.

Thanks for the reply XH4LWEPN, just wanted to make sure the price was in the ball park. Thought about going down the second hand path but a worn out LSD is no better than my single spinner and trying to get good second hand gears even 3.45s in W.A. is pretty hard.

$1400 is a fair price considering that they are new fitted.
My brother in law got recon 3.7 (i think) for his vr ss manual for around $600 fitted. But with no warranty and only the shops word that she'll be right...

If you have the money mate, go brand new. I went down that path of second hand diffs (and it also happened to be a 3.73:1 LSD) and i would never buy a second hand diff again, its very very noisy (whining) and will cost me double what I paid for the diff to get it fixed properly, although that didnt dawn on me at the time, all I could think about was 2 wheel skids and better acceleration... And yes $1400 is the going rate for 3.73 LSD builds.
