Hmm...i thought it might have been a phenolic spacer at first but it is made of aluminium, so technically all it is doing is increasing the intake runner length by 12mm.

Might be of some value if you need to raise the upper intake to clear taller valve covers?

If it was made of the same material like the regular GT40 intake phenolic spacers, to help stop the transfer of heat and the heating up of the fuel charge, then you'd buy it. But aluminium? How will that insulate and stop heat transfer?
