i was having a think about the shift kits you can put in your car, then i thought about be able to do burnouts while holding a button that engauges the lock up in gears 1 and 2 via wire 11 (s7 solinoid) but im not sure if the converter would hold the pressure (i image it would) or how to wire it in (how not to feed 12v back in to my ECU)

there are potential fuel gains here and definate performance gains. anyone help?

thats the thing, it just adds 12v to the line when you wnat to use it, so you could just cut the wire and leave it if it didn't work

The lockup in the converter will more than likely not handle it, especially if you change gears while it is locked.
If you have enough torque then burnouts wont be an issue anyway

The converter can only hold about 280Nm when locked. Most likely it will burn out the lockup clutch if you try and hold it on. Also you will have to be quick on the release when you stop otherwise the engine will stall.

Sounds familiar, http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopi ... +converter . Unfortunately the S7 solenoid will only lock in 3rd or 4th gear, even if you manually engage it - there may be a way around it, but I don't know.
