explain the whine?

is it a humming noise, or a gear whine...

is the any chance of a human of the female breed next to you?

does the whine change when you move the steering wheel? Could be a worn power steering pump..

or it could just be that tell-tale sound that alot of the I6's make, my EA used to sound like a ghost, some ppl liken it to a cat.
