I have a Ford XT, what do you think is the best value for money? The best to get off the line etc etc

I'd go gears b4 stall, speshaly if anyone else might drive the car in the wet.
however stalls are good too... either way you'll notice more go.

Yeah, but if I get both, it'll smoke to easy... a stall coverter would be cheaper, ay?

yes more smokeys maybe yes maybe no not sure what xt diffs are $$$ but it will cost you about $1000 for a stally fitted with oil cooler

Just fit a LSD center when you do the gears and you wont smoke it up any where as easy.

Do you think I should get a trans cooler at the same time as the lower gear ratio? They are reasonably cheap and will make the trans last heaps longer ay?

Even a trans cooler on a standard vehicle will help, if you give it ot your car more than normal they are recommended. Heat is generally what kill's automatic's aided by the driver.
