No problems... My comment wasn't having a go, I thought you might of known Falkeen, so I was just stating it, in case you haven't linked two & two together.

I don't know much but basically in short...

The car is a AU1 Futura. It has a 2nd hand Powerdyne Supercharger kit installed (AFAIK).

The car was sold to NAPARM, and Falkeen upgraded to an XR8 ute. Probably at a good time too, as the engine was on it's last legs. NAPARM spent a fair bit on it, to make it reliable. He rebuilt the engine, but soon after, he ran out of money. He did the diff in the car. I think he fixed it & then sold it. XH302 had it, and now it is for sale again.

Here are some threads:

NAPARM spent roughly $8000 on it. Nearly $5000 on the motor, not long ago. So it is fairly reliable. I can't tell whether the diff has been worked on recently. So that might need attending to.

Apart from all that. It's a very nice car. Do remember, that it is a AU1, so it doesn't have the nicer AU2/3 Interior. It also doesn't have the larger brakes, and other little goodies.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the Auto needs attending too soon.

All in all it looks to be a good buy, just be careful as it is pushing the limits of the motor & driveline. It has changed hands 3 times in the past couple of years.

Cheers

I would buy it. Except I would have to get the diff looked at, the transmission looked at.

When it comes down to it, it's just a AU Series 1, which can be had for about $7k or so. So $11k, isn't too bad. The fact it's recently had a rebuild is promising. I would of really wanted it to be a Series 2/3. But it practically looks like one, with all the changes.

So I would buy it, but i would spend another $3-4k on it, to bring the interior up to scratch & mechanical parts. But that's just me.

It's always a gamble you take, when you buy a forced induction car. Things might need replacing.

But the fact, that I already have a nice AU... I'm not interested.

LG
