You mean the sump plug? its not a normal washer as in steel, you have to use aluminium or copper (something soft) as it wont seal properlsy.

Did you go from running thick oil to thin? Might find the oils to thin for the old engine?
You'll have to lift the engine to change the sump too, as the K-frame is in the way... What washer did you use, I've always found the washers they use on spark plugs to be ace! |

Check for any burrs around the surface where the washer seats in. Dont know how you would have cross threaded it as you should be able to do it up by hand. If your real desperate you can use some teflon tape on the bolt thread to seal it.

hey guys
just took it to a mates mechanic ( I hate em so i try and fix things myself but this guy was good) basically there was a little hole next to the sump plug. my only guess is it was there before but i never noticed it and the washer that was on there was bigger so it must have covered it. anyway basically hes patched it upo for now, he was gonna put some sorta contact cement but the oil was still hot and so was the sump so he put some red sorta putty type stuff and its holding so im happy. Thanks for all your help |
