I see lower/upper pairs on eBay think maybe around $40 or so a pair. I think they're a pain in the a*** to change though :? Also I think if the rubber boots are cracked/ripped then replace them.

Ok they were the lower ball joints.
All up $200
The stub axle has to be disassembled, disc, abs sensor, caliper, etc, etc
The old ones get smashed out.
New ones get pressed in.
Assemble the stub axle & everything that come off it.
Wheel alignment and fixed
About 1 1/2-2hours

Dont learn the hard way it will cost more!
Get the car to a front end specialist as the MRS EF was like that & the stub axel was beyond repair.

I dont know why you needed a wheel alignment though.Because a worn ball joint wont disrupt the setting on your camber/caster/toe adjust ment. But if you specified a wheel alignment, fair enough then.

When we replace ball joints at work on any numerous vehicles you dont touch the adjustment on the tie rods or the shims on the upper arms.
