g'day everyone any suggestions plz ?? i was planning on ungrading 2 a manual el xr8 from a auto el falcon wat do u rekon ???? i was thinking its a v8 and it will sound alot better and it will hav alot more poke coz its manual??? has anyone got one of these el xr8 and r they worth getting???? can anyone let us know

if u gonna buy heads/intake n do the diff, any xr8 will do.

troong mate, ya cant even handle the i6 auto, let alone the 5L 5spd. :lol:

one thing to watch out for in the manuals in that series is the pedal assembly, if you have too heave a clutch the pedal assembly breaks over time and is quite a large job to replace. Other than that I had an EF XR8 manual it was the best car for driveability could throw it into any thing

If you want a V8 manual, then try and find a EL2 XR8 otherwise you will find it really difficult to sort out the issues of a conversion ECU wise. Without the manual spec ECU, it will be a real mission to locate a ECU as they are as rare as hens teeth.

darren at ftg auto salvage has a au1 xr8 that would be a great start, it's got the better engine, and would be a nice drive. i'd have a look.

stay away from au1s.. if u gonna get an au get series 2 on. front sussy was changed quite a bit and is common with ba's n stuff(so u can slap fpv brakes on)
