Ok, looks like ive got myself a DF LTD premium sound unit, everything but stacker. So i need a stacker, what aftermarket stacker would work with my unit? pref something with mp3 but not overly fussed and can i buy an off the shelf adaptor to plug it into the wires in my NA fairlane?

Pretty sure the newer Alpine stackers work with an adaptor cable. Have a search there are a few topics on it. The MP3 one goes for around 500. Second hand factory stackers seem to go for around 300 these days.

300? doubt that! i got the whole system without stacker for less then half that delivered to my door..
Yeah ive been searching for ages but was hopeing to have all the info nicely summed up..

I have no idea what adaptor to use to plug the unit itself in. I need to go from NA/EA standard radio to DF LTD premo, what adaptor is needed?

And does anyone know what system the DF LTD premo sound uses to connect to the stacker? M bus or the other alpine standard?

ahh i need help

Well I have seen a couple for 300

My I'm pretty sure the EL Ghia and NF LTD systems are the same, that being said the stock systems run on the M-Bus system and the newer alpine stackers run on Ai-Net so you need an M-Bus to Ai-Net adaptor.

I have done this before, but in another way. I made a loom, which could test an XF Ghia Pioneer Radio Cassette (grey face with green lights), on an NA Fairlane.

Basically, you buy a loom from Super cheap Auto for aftermarket sound systems to suit an NA Fairlane and the wires looms from an NF Fairlane as these will plug into the back of the DF head unit and then mate up the wires (power, speakers, accessories and so on).

Rear speakers run off the amplifier, so these won't be needed in the loom.

Sounds lengthy and a bit long winded, but go through it step by step and you be ok.

Im thinking of just buying an alpine M-bus to mp3 adaptor and using an mp3 player instead of a stacker..
