Does anyone know if you change from manual to auto gearbox, do you have to take your car to the friendly ford dealer to have the computer learn that you now have auto box? (I had to go through this when i fitted cruise control to make it work.)

Normally it is the other way around (PPL converting from Auto to manual).
Not too sure about the BA, but with the E series you would need an Auto ECU, as it is the ECU that actually controls when the car shifts

sell it and buy an auto. your manual would be worth more cause they're alot more rarer if its a futura/xt.
