Not completely sure but u wouldnt be able 2 do it by hand with a planer lol Its 25 thou of an inch, which is about 0.5mm the actual machinine that does it looks like this. Basically a big mill that lowers the grinding surface onto the head.

would 11:1 be unreasonable if you ran 98RON on the standard competeR? ive found that a wide open throttle 10.5:1 with a stock ecu and an RPD r1 cam is fine. at part throttle it pings like a b**ch. you can't realy just put a number on it and say NO MORE, it just doesn't work like that. |

it doesnt sound much but in engineering terms its huge! when i used to hone out the cylinders at my old work we had to get the whole cylinder size from top to bottem within 2 tenths of a thou.

not trying to hijack the forum but what would be the best compression ratio for a 250 crossflow runnning high boost like 25-30 PSI????? and would i be able to achive this ratio with stands stroke ratio of crank and con rods and just shave head
thx

thx whoa thats a crap load of boost!!! youll need forged pistons with some serious dish (7.5:1) and prey it holds. Id be talking to an respected performance engine builder for that kind of advice.

Id be talking to an respected performance engine builder for that kind of advice. with boost levels that high, its a given that the pistons and rings must be upgraded. What about other components that are in direct contact with the combustion such as the engine block, head, and valve seats, spark plugs? I think I can assume the block would be tough enough but what about the softer aluminum alloy? Also, collateral components such as timing chains, and cranks?
