My old mans work vehicle was a 82 f100 with a 250 x flow backed by a four speed (with the ultra low 1st that isnt synchro) and it was slightly tricked up cam, exhaust nothing major.
Great torquey motor with an alloy flat top tray this would spin the wheels in 3rd gear from standstill and sounded great with a side exiting exhaust. Fooled many people into thinking it was a warm 8 in it

Turbo six all the way! I've heard of upside down exhorst manifold working... anyway everyone has access to a boilermaker/welder don't they??? lol... I wish. I saw a rough xe in canberra with a worked 351c with holly 750 Dpumper, C6 and 9" for $1500, the other day.... couldn't find the cash.... but yeh, cheap worked motors are out there though.
