easy to do the filter at home by dropping the pan and then refiling with oil
clean the pan and get all the metal off the magenets refill with around 4 litres of the correct fluid for a flush u needa machin to do it due to the pressures needed

This is why Ford should of cept the Auto dipstick, make flushing a breeze. >
To flush simply drop the Auto cooling lines into a clear bucket with a scale on it, start her up and as the old fluid is pumped out you just pore the new stuff down the dipstick tube at the same rate it’s being pumped out, If it gets away from you just turn it off and catch up. Flush the transmission before you change the filter, why run dirty fluid throe a clean filter. |

I had my tranny (auto) serviced last year and they had this machine hooked up to suck all the oil out even out the torque converter as there is more than 4 litres of oil in your transmiison as well as giving a sample of ur oil to see where ur transmission was at.
Last time wasn't a great experience seeing how almost black my tranny fluid was i may need the bands tighten or even a reco.

Nah Bro done it, no problems, you just need to be well organised, this meted is extensively used in the states and that’s how I first herd about it.
Can also use this method Start it up and let 1 litre pump out Turn the engine off and pore 1 litre back in Repeat until all fluid is changed I started this way and finished off by doing it as I 1st described. I can do a full in-depth right up on this method if anybody is interested. If you find out the size of the fill plug on the transmission if would be possible to rig up a hose and fitting to allow it to do it this way. |

thats f**k dodgey as man
and the machin actually gets the old oil out of the tranny and cleans it to as a detergent is added

yeah thanks guys you talked me into gettin the pro to do it caus if your tippin it in same time as your pumpin it out it would take about 40l to s**t clean then youve gotta pull the sump off and change the filter

bit of the subject fellas but is there a reco kit that I can put to the auto.
I had a lil bit of slippage the other day and its bout time for some attention. I would like to go down the track of a reco and do it myself, If anyone has done there own, how did you go? was it easy enough to get hold of a breakdown on the box? cheers |

Suite you self man if you don’t like it no worries.
I did it this way on my 5R55E Transmission that takes Mercron V Fluid $21 a Quart, I used Penrite Fully synthetic ATF had to order the stuff in $135 or there a-bouts for 12 litres of it The fact is this is not a full flush; this will change all the transmission fluid with minimal mixing takes 15-20 min, it’s free and you don’t risk braking or swelling transmission seals as can happen with a pressure flush. “you’ve gotta pull the sump off and change the filter†You still got to pull the sump off to change the filter regardless of how it is done. |
