Hey guys,
Ive recently had my engine rebuilt, but am having problem (only minor) with the head setup. My cam specs are: Camlift.256" Valve Lift.512" Duration at .050" 242 degrees Lobe centreline (max lift) 105 This cam was in my old setup, but due to weak valve springs, she cracked a spring and threw a valve (fun.) Im now running Crow springs (double row) and retainers. Can anyone see a problem with this set up? No matter what oil i use, i just cant seem to shut up a couple of lifters!! She's making good power, and loads of good throttle response, but the clicking is driving me crazy. Any suggestions? |

if regrind - is it shimmed up right?
otherwise clean or replace the noisy lifter

Yeah but i've only done like 5000km's on this new engine, and my builder wont touch it anymore. I have a feeling the head wasn't machined right. It had 20 hours of machining done to it, since then its never been the friggen same. |

If its a regrind, it needs to be shimmed up enough to bring the HLA's withing there normal range or they will tick.
