hi guys , is there any truth to the tale that the auto should be left in power mode rather than economy for city driving ? a few people have told me this will help the auto live a bit longer? , fact or fiction?

all the power/economy button is change the shift points on the revs, i wont affect the gearbox at all, well shouldnt, if ya do a search u mite find a better answer than mine

possibly for higher box life becuase it holds gear longer. Definatly not for economy. I have tried both and definatly get better economy in economy mode. The name says it all really the gearbox is electronic so let it do what it was designed for

economy for country driving...

i would agree with the above power is better for city, much less changes.
but then again when im in the city i just put the thing in 2nd and leave it there with gas who needs econ bwhaha |

your gearbox will last alot longer in power mode, talk to any auto place.

i used to drive my auto around town in 3 instead of D with economy mode on.
you'll lose out on economy a tad but they do last longer im told.

I get pretty much the same with econ either on or off, but its much smoother with it off
