Hey, I have a EA Fairmont with a 94' EB XR8 engine & running gear, have added headers & a 3" Rage exhaust system but want to do somehting with the air intake, currently have K&N filter & have been looking for a way to improve the air intake but can't find anything stanard to fit.
Any suggestions?

I have fitted an AU XR8 tickford snorkle to mine, made an adaptor plate to take it from the EB radiator support holes to the AU snorkle holes, works well.

Cheers mate, will check that out. Also looking at putting a secondary intake into the airbox, just have to figure out as there is not really any room to run ducting...

ive got another intake coming from the bottom of the car..its an upside-down EL intake screwed to the rad support and joined to the airbox by a length of flexipipe. I have a single 16" thermo fan there not a big clutch fan so you might have a tight fit if you have the standard fan...

Took it for a spin this avo & seemed to help but it's hard to say but I had the part to use so thought it could't do any hard. Going to look into alternate snorkells as soem have suggested.
Anyone know of an airflow meter that you can run a gauge off to see what airflow you're getting?

I have the EL II XR8 snorkel (with original paper type filter) and the difference between that and no aircleaner/airbox cover is 2kW. Hardly worth drilling holes in your box to get that little bit extra.

yeah but that would suck cold air from inside the engine bay, not cold air from outside the car...

I cut 75mm hole in bottom off box and thru panel just above ABS modulator. Gets cooler air from under there.
Also removed reinforcing/moulding fins from inside of lid.
Richie.
