Hey guys last night I decided to clean my battery terminals as they were corroded as hell. Anyway i got them all lookin smiko shut da lid n took off. only problem was one of the brackets off of the battery terminal had been bent without me knowing it and it shorted out on the bonnet. So half way down my strett the stupid thing started jerkin and stuff and then shut down... ded a** battery! Now i left it till lunch time today and i came home from work in my landcruiser and jump started it and it worked, but the voltz gauage was goin spastic. I left it runnin for abouit half an hour and shut it off and then straight away tried to turn it back on but nothing... Any help please? cood the battery be ded still? like not charged for long enuff or have i fukd the computa or the alternator?? please help

I'd say you have f**k the battery.
If it was running after you jumped it I'd suggest the ECU is fine. Voltmeter was probably going screwy as Alternator was trying to charge a shorted battery.

Damn! ah well thanks heaps guys at least now im hopin that the alternator and the ecu is fine

No promises here. Best to try a battery from someone else before buying a new one.
Alternator could still have suffered some damage.

Alternator could still have suffered some damage. Thats it mate rule it out so ya dont go havin to replace two or more components...as ya still could have too tho....if ya can get another batt first.
