Hey guys,
I pulled my dash apart a while ago but im not sure if this has anything to do with it but i tried using my airconditioner the other day, and i know it used to work but just havent tried it lately. The air no matter wat speed setting etc was only coming out of those vents right near the windscreen... the demister ones or wateva they are called. I cant get the air to come out of the front vents... It is an ED. Has anyone else had this problem or no a possible solution for me? Thankyou

The system will default to the screen (for safety) if there isn't enough vacuum to control the vent positions.
You have a vacuum leak! Most likey under the dash somewhere.

Yes it could have happened when you pulled the dash out.

Your looking for a split or not connected hose. Could also be leaking from the Heater control panel.

if your car has climate check the vacuum control box behind the glove box to make sure all the hoses are in properly and their correct color code order

How does the air-con gas effect the controls??

The vacuum controls should work with or without the air-con being on.

the control box behind the dash (if climate unit) has solenoids in it that act as valves that open and close to direct the air to where ever you choose. if one of those solenoids are stuffed then you will get the problem your having where the air cant be directed properly. and if the vacuum hoses arnt connected properly to it than the same problem. it happened to me and i ended up getting a replacement 2nd hand module.
