yeah last night i went out to my car to grab my wallet and some documents and i went to unlock the car and the door locks s**t them self they acted like they were dancing up and down (like if you tryed to lock the door with a door open)i had to time it so i opened the door when it unlocked. i locked and unlock the passengers side it seemed fine any way if this happens again what should i check / replace etc

is there somewhere that can fix the prob by installing new actuators? as in drive in stuffed lockind-drive out poorer but at least with lock that work??

search it on FM, but I gotta say, that 'dancing thing' is pretty funny man.

My old ea fairmont ghia did that, the pasenger side actuator was loose and sometimes drooped so it sat lower than the other ones.
so when the rest where up it told the controler that "something" was pushing down on the passenger side lock so they all locked' then when they where all down the others told the controller that "something" was pulling up, so they all went up. and back to the start. you may find ones a little loose, if so it sound like the same thing |

my old el did this was funny tring to pull the handle at the perfect time to get it. was an actuator.

My XH had the same prob all the time. Turned out the rod going to the external doorhandle is adjustable and was loading up the door latch. That sort of explained why the door sometimes didn't shut properly! Another contributing factor was all the dirt and dust and s**t inside the mechanisim. Works fine now!

I suggest getting a can of RP-7, WD-40, or CRC and spraying in your actuators. Close and open the doors a couple times. Give it another spray. Do this to all your doors and then if that dont work go look for the jaycar door lock replacement doco that i redone.

i had this problem a few years ago with my ef gli u press the unlock and it locks itself again, just open the drivers door when it unlocks, lean over to the passengers side and smash the lock a few times with your fist, it seems to fix the problem

keep counting as happen to me aswell, bout 10 months ago though it hasnt happened since and didnt do a thing.

this is a fairly old post it hasn't happend again touch wood but it was the actuator it was frozen

Spend the 40bux n get the steelmate c/locking kit from Jaycar. So much better than the standard locks.........
