i have 1 subwoofer going to 1 amp. (make sense) the sub has 2 sets of + - termnials, does anyone have a diagram of how to wire this up?? i got it wired up at car audio excellence although when i put it up the sub power cuts out and i get an error 3 on my amp, the subsonic filter is on and everything is right. error 3 means too much current. so it comes down to the wiring. i need to know this a.s.a.p as i want to go out tonight and enjoy my car not worry about it cutting out.

thanks guys!

The way to drop the power consumption is to wire the 2 speaker coils in series instead of parallel.
Check the attached pic.

Two 2ohm voicecoils in series will give the amp a 4 ohm load.
Two 2ohm voicecoils in parallel will give the amp a 1 ohm load.

Wiring 1 sub with 2 voice coils is the same as wiring 2 subs.
It's just that it's even MORE important to get it right - otherwise the 2 voicecoils will fight (1 pushes while the other pulls) and burn.

it's probably parallel at the moment

what a champion you are maximus!! i havent solved the problem yet but i am running it in paralell. so it has to be run in series i think. i managed to get it to stop cutting out by playing around with the amp settings although it sounds crap. i will run it in series tomorrow and find out. that pik is 100% correct yes? only asking as it has the - going to +. just want to double check before i burn something. thanks again!! :-)

Yeah mate - it's right.
Just double check your connections - and don't trial at full volume.
