What sort of headlights do the NA/NC and DA/DC range use? THey kinda look like HID lights but i dont think they would be. Or are they just halogen? Cheers guys!

Sadly, Ford Australia for some unknown reason, has decided so far NOT to supply any vehicles equipped with HID system of any kind.

They however, introduced a Ford Territory some time ago at a car show which was equipped with HID Xenon Projectors. But for some reason it did not take off.
Instead they stuck to the good old BA/BF headlight with all their inherent problems.

So, the projectors you see on some old NA/NC are merely Halogen projectors.
Which is not built for use with HID and is nothing else than a glorified or better said magnified Halogen bulb.
:( :( :( :(

I think only NC got them, NA had normal reflector lights.

Sweating inside the lens specially on the drivers side.
Minor crack in the lens material....
Most people who went back to their dealers during their warranty got them replaced.
Some of those headlights have been appearing on eBay as slightly used....

I forgot to tell you this before, the chrome ring on the outside of the black(XT) or Chromed (Futura, Fairmont...) trim or as some call it bezel can fall off also.

I have seen some people using super glue to fix the ring to the trim, but the super glue releases a gas when heated which if it comes in contact with the chrome used when vacuum sprayed on the reflector and elsewhere, will damage it. It will start discolouring and looks a bit matt and no longer as shiny as it should be.

Also, the plastic material used on the front lens has a hard coat. This coat can easily be damaged by sand, stone and other flying debris on the road.
If you polish the lens to get rid of the damage there is a high likelihood that the hard coat is polished off, which is going to look very ugly in those areas.

Use only Plexus Plastic cleaner and leave the stone chips be.

As long as you have warranty you shouldn't worry.

This is the chrome rings that runs around the edge of the reflectors??
I have Plexus, so thats what I will use.

Well sort of correct, it looks like as if it is sitting on the edge of the reflector but it is pushed in from the backside and held in place with very small plastic tags and sits on the the edge of the black (if you got XT) and if you got Futura etc. the chromed trim.
