Hey everyone, i am an owner of a 2003 BA XT its a semi-auto, now dont get me wrong when im sitting in traffic i love the auto part of it but when im slamming it up through the gears past a SV6 i love the manual part of it. I love manual's so i was wondering how much it would cost for a factory swap from the s-auto to the 5 speed man, also somewhere that could do it in the Brisbane metro area for less then an arm and a leg.

P.S. if it is a valid option what about using a universal manual tranny or something from another car ?

P.P.S. i would also like in quotes or reccomendations that this will go from s-auto to a fully operating manual i dont want the price for just the box

thanks for your help

Pretty rare to find a ba 6 cyl 5 speed and ecu and wiring kicking around cheap!

Expect at least 3-4g

3-4 grand doesnt sound too bad, i can do the install my father and i have all the nessary equipment so labour is no problem (i cant remeber weather the BA is a 5 or 6, never really had enough money to worry about it) :P. thanks for your help tho.

ALSO do you know anywhere that can get the boxes ? does it have to have a BA ECU ? are there any aftermarket ECU's that work or are on the market ?

ba xts have 5 speeds mate. seriously trade the auto in for a manual, will be a better option imho with a ba. they dont seem to have a pedal box like the e series do, the pedal assy is plastic with rods going to the interior command/stereo setup. I just did a manual conversion on my ef and the electronics werent too difficult to sus out, the ba would certainly be more of a handfull!
