It is nearly time to get some new tyres on my EL XR8. I have Yokohama C drives 235/45/17 on at the moment. I am very happy with the C drives but I was just wondering if anyone has tried either the Yokohama Advan Sport V103 or the AVS ES100. I am thinking about going up to 245/40/17 as that is what is standard on the EL GT rims and I am not sure whether the C drives have that size or not. Just after any opinions on these tyres.
Cheers.

I hope your pocket is full of cash
I had the option of either ADVAN V103's or Bridgestone Potenza S-03's (they are basically the equal product to each other) I went with the bridgestones, and they are absolutoly awsome, so I would expect the V103's to be of the same level of performance. but not cheap not cheap at all |

I haven't priced them up as yet I was after some opinions on them first. My c drives cost me $310 each. I am guessing that they will be a bit more then that.

I have run ES100s on a small hatchback before .. and I can tell you a bloody excellent type ... have heard that the Advan V103 is meant to be even better.
Love the higher end Yoko product .. but really can't afford to run them on a high mileage vehicle though.

I've got 235/45/17 V103s and they're a fantastic tyre, way better then the SO2s they replaced but you'd expect that when the SO2s were designed 7 or so years ago. The initial turn-in on the SO2s was better (very sharp) but overall grip is higher on the Yokis. The Yoki's are also ALOT quieter and smoother than the SO2s.

I am going to have to look into the price difference from the c drives and go from there I think.
