ok as i said i would write up a review of the megasquirt. here are the specs of my car for everyone.

Rspec3 RPD cam
exhaust
extractors
K & N panel filter

thats as far as the engine mods go....

well the MS has been in the car for just under a week, so probably not enough time to do a thorough assessment but i shall definitely add to it over the coming weeks.

at the moment it is hard to tell if my fuel economy has improved/decreased as i have only used a half tank but i have a feeling it will be better than before, heres hoping i can get 500kms to a tank!

throttle response is simply awesome! before i would put my foot down and the car would respond a second later now its instant! idle is also incredibly smooth (it was smooth before but its even better now) cold starts however are a different story atm, as dima hasnt got round to tuning for cold starts yet....its a little cranky first thing in the morning, but holding it at 1500 rpm for a min or so and let idle for a little bit longer cheers it up fine.

sorry if i havent covered everything but i will of course be adding to this in the coming days and weeks.

Kezz

Good to hear it's all going well Kezz... no mention of power? I guess you're just going for economy? lol. I will be also interested to see how it all goes with that.

We'll get together sometime soon to sort that cold start out once and for all.

Keep in touch.

Cheers

Yeah getting the cold start to work as good as the EEC is one of the tricker parts. Just when you think you have it all sorted out you will go and start the car and it will idle at 1200rpm. Also keeping it happy when the AC kick in or when the power steering is loaded up might take some tuning. It funny how the tuning the car fo fuel economy and power are so much easier than sorting out the crappy boring stuff.

lol, the not stalling issue was revolved a while back with another car.

But yeah, its all the fiddly things that take time...

And cold start is funny like that, just when you think you've won, the cars warm lol.

Cheers

ok done abit more driving... fuel economy for my car atm is about 370 until fuel light or so to a tank but in saying that ive had some horror runs lately, ie stuck in traffic for 5 kms a few times a week.. probably could pull 420 or so if it wasnt for those hold ups... for some reason the cold starts have improved, perhaps the warmer weather? oh yes and response is still awesome!
