to be hoinst i think shiftkits and any other company are just having a tug. dont go paying that amount for chirst sake. at least have a shot doing it yourself or get someone to attempt to make it for you.

To be honest mate, i think you guys are the ones having a tug.... Who did all the research and development, who provides full support and warranties for their products? Its all good for you diy'ers to copy some info that was posted on the net to make your shift kits cheaper, but then again, you's arent paying any tax, overheads, advertising fees and all the other costs involved etc are you? Why not support the people that gave you the information in the first place? You want a group buy, why not email shiftkits.com.au, maybe you'll get better pricing... |

whichever way one goes about gettin one. Theyre a good mod as covered above I just like the firmness of the shift and when the missus drivin or maybe you just dont like it, you just TURN IT OFF.

anyone had gearbox issues (breakages) after having one for a period of time?

yes 1, but only minor prob.
drive plate bolts came loose - maybe or maybe not caused by using shift kit. But just retightened plenty tight and all good.

IMO the kit is better for the clutches. if you dont have a kit the clutches slip more than when you got one, even more when you really give it a boot full. When you have got a solid gear change that these kits gives, you are more inclined to give it A BIT MORE BOOT. When the box fails its has got nothin to do with the shift kit but more to do with the fact its a factory stock standard auto that wasnt built for street machines but for shopping trolleys. my clutches have just gone, I dont blame the shiftkit :) If you drive it like a shopping trolley with a stab here and there, it will be fine my2c |
